It is with great sadness that the family of Doretta Mae Millin announce her passing on October 5, 2021 at the age of 68.
Doretta was born in Nipawin, Saskatchewan on November 10, 1952 to Shorty and Donelda Seckinger. As a child, she was involved in gymnastics, dance, 4H and developed a love for horses that continued throughout her life.
Doretta moved to Alberta with her sons where she was involved with the Christian Cowboy Association. She sang at the rodeos and became involved in racing horses.
She later began a career as a home care aide; working in Edmonton and later in Lethbridge before returning home to Nipawin in 2010, reconnecting with family and childhood friends.
Doretta was a loving Mom, a beautiful sister, a caring daughter and a wonderful aunt. She was actively involved with her church and loved to share her faith through leading worship songs.
She will be greatly missed by her many friends and surviving family : her mother Donelda Leale; her sister and brother-in-law Deb and Dennis Karle; her four sons, Richard, Rodney, Ryan and Robert and their families which include four grandsons, two granddaughters and five great grandchildren; her nephew Kean Phillips and his family; her niece Tarra Phillips and her family .
Doretta was predeceased by her father Shorty, her brother Scott, Grandma Scott and stepfather Calvin Leale.
