Jean Emily Harris passed away peacefully at City Hospital in Saskatoon, SK on December 31, 2021 at the age of 83 years.
Jean was born on May 15th, 1938 in the Lady Gray Hospital in Nipawin, SK to Alexander (Scottie) and Dorothy Davidson.
Jean grew up on a farm south of Garrick, SK. When Jean started
school she took her Grade 1 in Choiceland, then attended Kirkwall until Grade 4, completing Grades 5-8 in Garrick SK. When Jean completed her education she then worked for Ed & Ruth Schultz in 1955.
Jean and Daryl Harris met at a dance at Crocken Hill School in 1954. They were married June 8, 1957 at the United Church in Garrick, SK. Jean and Daryl were blessed with four sons- Kim, Darren, Tal and Brett.
Through the years Jean worked in many different places and she made many friends along the way. During the many years of working and raising her children, Jean was a member of the Royal Purple, was Secretary Treasurer in Air Cadets and sold Artex Products. Jean worked at Winston Groceries, the Choiceland Post Office and also sold insurance for Pioneer Life Company. Jean invested in a business called J.E.T. Textile Upholstery which she ran until she moved back to Nipawin, SK.
Jean loved travelling and she made sure there were many pictures of her travels to Scotland, England and Vegas. Cake decorating and flower arranging were her favorite pastimes. Jean enjoyed ceramic painting, puzzling and sewing. Spending as much time visiting with relatives and going to family reunions was always important to her. Jean’s highlight was spending time with her Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren and they meant the world to her.
Jean was predeceased by her parents, Alex (Scotty) and Dorothy Davidson, her sons: Kim, Darren and Tal Harris, her brother, Donald Davidson and nephew, Steven Davidson.
Jean leaves to mourn her passing her son: Brett Harris, granddaughters: Tiffany Barker, Kimberly Harris, Bailey and Shelby Harris, great grandchildren: Syncere Barker-Knife, Tianna Barker-Knife, Carson Barker-Myers and Zayna Blacklake, her sister, Dianne Mark, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.
