We lovingly remember the life of our dad, John Teichroeb, born on June 6, 1931 to Jacob and Margaret (Thiesen) Teichroeb in Langham, Sk. At 90 years he passed away peacefully with his wife, Agnes holding his hand.
Dad married his best friend, Agnes on July10, 1955 in the Bergthaler Church. Together they have shared 66 great years. They have enjoyed moving and lived in many different places. Dad worked for Boychuk Homes for a while, as well as many other jobs. He was a welder by trade. He also did some farming. He loved living in the north where all the spruce trees grow, built a log house, loved hunting, camping with family and enjoyed travel. He was fun and a treasure to be with.
Dad was baptized upon confession of his faith before he married. Dad loved the Lord. In 2001 after their move to Waldheim, Dad found a friend that helped him understand the plan of salvation, which renewed his faith and found great peace. With passion and strong conviction he taught his family that God was most important in life. He was a man of integrity and strength with a very gentle spirit. He enjoyed his family and always looked forward to seeing them.
On February 27, 2016, Dad had a stroke that paralyzed his right side and was in and out of hospital for month or so. Mom took Dad home to care for him and tried to rehabilitate him to be able to walk again. It seemed hopeful at first, but other complications just didn't allow. After a while he was rushed into the Rosthern Hospital, and from there he was assessed to be cared for at the Nursing home. He spent 6 months in Duck Lake Nursing Home, and then moved to Carrot River Nursing Home, where he was lovingly cared for till he passed away. In all of this, Dad's faith remained strong. Even as he was dying he was concerned for the spiritual welfare of his family.
He left to mourn his wife Agnes, and his children, Betty (John) Unger, Nettie (Mike) Friesen, (Sandra) Teichroeb, Jake (Anna) Teichroeb, Margaret (John) Bueckert, Susan (Danny) Penner,
Ben (Angela) Teichroeb, and Dave (Lisa) Teichroeb, also many grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as many family, relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his son John on November13, 2010.
