Glenn Everett Sisson was born on July 31, 1928 in Tisdale, Saskatchewan to Bert and Hazel Sisson. Glenn grew up with three older sisters, three younger sisters and a younger brother. The family lived on a mix farm with Shorthorn cattle that provided beef, milk and butter. The switch to Angus cattle was made years later.
At a young age Glenn was put in charge of his own team of horses to cultivate the fields and plant the crops. Farming was hard work in the early days, but even though the family purchased a tractor in1940, Glenn never lost his love of horses.
Glenn married Dorothy Cassils on November 21, 1951. The couple moved to their own farm just down the road from the original Sisson farm. Glenn and Dot were blessed with two sons, Everett in 1952 and Terry in 1954.
Glenn and his brother Mel were well known for the high quality of their Black Pearl cattle herd. On the Royal Angus farm there was no shortage of things to be done. Glenn was not scared of hard work and through the years he passed on his knowledge and work ethic to his sons and many of the young men who worked for him.
Glenn was a caring man, with a great sense of humour. He enjoyed time spent with family and friends.
On December 1, 2021, Glenn was welcomed home to heaven by his wife Dot, son Terry and daughter-in-law Donna. He was also predeceased by his parents and three sisters.
Glenn is survived by his son Everett (Maxine), grandchildren,
great grandchildren, one brother and three sisters.
