It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Violet Bistritz. Vi passed away peacefully at Pineview Lodge surrounded by her family.
When thinking of Vi we think of an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend. Vi will be remembered for always being polite, filled with kindness and giving unconditional love to everyone she met. She loved and is loved!
Vi was born and raised in Toronto Ont. When she was 24, she married Vic and moved across the country from big city to farm, to create a new life and raise a family. They enjoyed living and farming together in the Aylsham area for 62 years. Candle Lake held a special place in Vi’s heart and many great gatherings with family and friends were held there. Vi and Vic spent winters in Arizona and many fond memories were made there.
Vi was a well-respected member of the community and was very active in many clubs and organizations including: Aylsham figure skating club, Rebecca Lodge, Aylsham Curling Club, and Carrot River Catholic Women’s League and many more. She was always willing to help in the community and loved getting together with her friends and family. Vi was known for being a loyal friend and always having an open door, offering a cup of tea.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children, Ellen (Jim), Sandra, Valerie (Mike), Karin, Grant (Katherine); grandchildren Joel, Jennifer (Dave), Sarah (Cody), Jeremy (Danielle), Kyle (Brooke) Kimberly and Hannah, and great grand children Cooper and Bronwyn
Vi was predeceased by her loving husband Vic, her brother Syd and she will be sadly missed by many.
Her wish for us would be to live life with
kindness, with understanding and compassion.
