Lenore Wilma McKenzie nee Marsh passed away peacefully on the morning of July 19th, 2022 at the Melfort Hospital.
Lenore was born on October 10th 1937. She was the 3rd of 6 children born to Martha and Bill Marsh of the Mossy Glen District. Lenore attended school at Mossy Glen School House for her primary years and attended secondary school at both Garrick and Choiceland until grade 10. From there she went to work at the Prince Albert Tuberculosis Sanatorium as a nurse’s aide. She married Dean McKenzie in 1957 and raised her family on the farm South of Snowden. While raising her family she worked at the Smeaton Hospital, as a bus driver, and other various jobs. Once her children were grown she started to work for the Department of Highways as the cook for a bridge crew. She traveled the province of Saskatchewan for many years during the week and on weekends would often take the grandkids back to the farm. She retired early and moved to Nipawin to care for her mother. While there she made many friends through different clubs that she joined. She continued to spend a lot time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her amazing cooking and baking, her quilts, her knitting, her sense of humor, and her love for her family.
Lenore is predeceased by her parents, her sisters Gwen, Alberta, Laverne and Elva; her husband Dean; her son Bob, and her grandson-in-law Jason.
She is survived by her siblings Will and Vivian, her children Cindy (Brian), Tena (John), Brad (Tammy), daughter-in-law Gina, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and those that loved and knew herObituary will be posted after the Service.
