• Bertrand known as “Bert” passed away September 29, 2021 at Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the age of 73 years.
Bert was born at St. Anthony’s Hospital in The Pas, Manitoba the first born child to Walter and Margaret Genaille
Bert lived most of his life in Cormorant, Manitoba where he met the love of his life Liz. They married August 18, 1967 and raised five children: Joyce, Tim, Cindy, Aaron and Leo. They also fostered Anthony and Cindy Nabess who they always considered as their own son and daughter.
Bert had numerous occupations throughout his life. He was a logger, trapper, fisherman, community constable, medical taxi driver and worked for CN Railway. Bert went on to attend
Bible School in Nipawin, Saskatchewan and became a fulltime minister, working as a pastor and missionary. He even went to Africa, and when he returned he said, “Now I know how it feels to be the only white man in the crowd.”
Bert and Liz were involved in many events for the Lord. Bert’s overall gift was “concert organizer”. He organized many Gospel Jamborees and occasionally hosted Tribal Trails. Bert’s passion was music and always enjoyed singing and playing guitar through music and testimony.
Liz was the love of Bert’s life. He worried and cared for her so much. Liz said there were many times she would be doing dishes and Bert would suddenly come behind her hugging her so tightly she would say, “Ouch!”  Bert would reply, “What’s the matter, are you rotting?” Liz says she will miss those special times with Bert and will never feel his loving arms around her again until the day he welcomes her home in heaven. Liz thanks the Lord for the many wonderful years they spent together as husband and wife serving their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Bert was known for his sense of humour and could often be seen teasing and laughing with others, especially his grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Everyone actually!

Bert will be lovingly remembered  by his wife of 54 years, Liz; his children: Joyce Genaille Lowe (Jason Lowe), Timothy Genaille (Karen Isaac), Cynthia Genaille Mckay (Gabe Mckay) Aaron Genaille (Robin Sieben), Leo Genaille (Roberta Spence), Anthony Nabess, Cindy Nabess Harper and Sparky (the boy); his siblings: Anthony Genaille (Isabelle), Linda Rogers (Dave), Louise Garson (Gary), Gail Little, Wayne Genaille (Bernice), Shelly Tobacco (Joe) and Cyril Genaille (Freda).
